Emmons Place Housing
The Emmons Place 96,000 sf housing project in Portland’s historic Alphabet District includes 146 living units with resident services facilities. The Southern end of the development consisted of the renovation and seismic upgrade of an three-story historic Buck Prager Building with a new four-story addition, totaling 25,600 sf. The two buildings are connected on all floors, making it feel as though it is one building on the inside. The Buck Prager Building was originally an office building that was seismically upgraded and adapted into 48 housing units. The Northern building is 44,400 sf and six-stories in total, constructed with five stories of wood framing over a one story concrete podium. The building appears to be connected to the southern half and houses 99 housing units. The development also includes a multi-purpose room, bike storage, outdoor courtyard, resident services office, and lounge.
