Fire Station No. 7 Adaptive Reuse

The historic Portland Fire Station No.7 was renovated into a two-story, 18,700 sf multiple tenant office and retail space to reenergize both the building and surrounding neighborhood. The brick-and-mortar facility and adjacent maintenance garage addition received a seismic renovation as well as updated building systems upgrades. The historic character was maintained with restored fire poles and construction of historically accurate wood carriage door storefronts along with the floating mezzanine in the handball court and third level penthouse suite with opening onto a roof deck.

The original brick station dates to 1927 and includes a maintenance garage addition from the 1960s. Once a firemen’s dormitory, command center, truck storage, handball court, and maintenance garage in an industrial neighborhood, the building now houses Bremik Construction’s headquarters office.
