University of Portland, Pilot House & Bookstore

Bremik Construction built a dedicated social space that caters to the University of Portland community. The existing bookstore was remodeled while an attached space was renovated to create a restaurant with commercial kitchen and garage doors that open to a heated outdoor patio. We complemented the university’s historic architecture by using exposed wood and brick, and salvaged bead board was used as an entryway ceiling feature and the wood-fired oven was built using bricks from the building’s original chimney.
