Deskins Commons
Deskins Commons is a 56 unit affordable workforce and special needs housing complex centered around the historic Todd House and a stand of heritage white oak trees. The 60,000 sf complex consists of one three-story, three two-story, and three single-story multi-family wood-framed buildings.
The restoration of the historic Todd House included a new reinforced concrete foundation, new water/air resistant siding, and removing historically incarcerate additions. Once completed, the restored home housed resident activities and services.
All buildings utilized advanced framing techniques paired with envelope upgrades, efficient fixtures, green roof areas, and an under pavement storm water drainage and retention system to meet Earth Advantage Gold Certification performance standards and to minimize resident utility bills.
