New Market Theater, an iconic Portland building that is over 140 years old, is home to a local coffee shop and several offices. With the movement of office buildings offering community spaces for their tenants, Bremik was hired to modernize the lobby and common areas throughout the historic building.
The modernization of the lobby was all about bringing the historic characteristics back to life; Exposing the original brick walls, refreshing the original cast iron railings, and replacing the tired mill work with reclaimed redwood. The addition of a glass wall created a community conference room, and upgrades were completed to the floors, walls, ceiling, and lighting on the remaining three floors of common areas.
