Hawthorne Transportation Renovation
The 15,900 sf Hawthorne Transportation Renovation Project includes a comprehensive renovation of both the first and second floors of the existing administration building. On the second floor, a mezzanine will be added above the existing staff lounge space to expand the usable space, creating a new staff lounge space. Renovations on the first floor include the addition of a secure vestibule, meeting rooms, expanded dispatch space, and a new two-stop elevator that connects to the mezzanine.
The project also includes installation of a new electrical service, electrical system upgrades, and lighting improvements. A new fire alarm system will be implemented, along with HVAC upgrades to improve building performance. Security enhancements will include a new card reader system, cameras, and an intercom system throughout the building and site. Additional upgrades include window replacements, exterior paint, new doors and door hardware, and selective site work involving site lighting and demolition of a portion of the existing covered bus storage to allow restriping of the bus storage layout.
