Friendly Hall Renovation

The Friendly Hall Deferred Maintenance and Renovation Project will fully renovate the existing historic building footprint and provide a new addition to meet space requirements. The unreinforced masonry and rubble foundation will be seismically strengthened to current structural standards. New MEP equipment, systems, utilities and routing through the building will be provided in conformance with design standards and to support programmatic requirements.

Unique to this project is lowering the west wing basement approximately four feet, through shoring and excavation, to transform the space into a fully occupiable, cohesive and functional full height basement. Further excavation to the west wing basement will also be required.
