We replaced a 57-year-old elementary school with a new 76,000 sf, two-story facility constructed with tilt-up concrete and steel. The school now includes 24 classrooms, flex learning spaces, media center, music room, cafeteria, covered outdoor play, gymnasium, and parking. We self performed the concrete and interior finish carpentry. Permitting was delayed by two months but the project was delivered on-time regardless.
We suggested $2,500,000 in value engineering during the preconstruction process, allowing the school district to choose from an itemized list of savings options at both the Design Development and 50% Construction Documents, allowing the district to utilize $336,000 on voluntary upgrades, while remaining within the budget.
