Discovery Block – Mixed-Use Building

The Discovery Block project involved construction of a 13,600 sf, two-story retail and commercial office building in the heart of historic Troutdale’s downtown business district along the East Historic Columbia River Highway. The structure flanks the street corner and wraps around the historic Troutdale Vision Clinic. Construction of the core and shell included all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire sprinkler systems, as well as the building’s stairs. Site work included the utility infrastructure work and an 18-spot parking lot. The Cascadian Architecture of the building complements the contemporary Columbia Gorge style of the area.

Bremik was founded in Troutdale and the company founders have developed several historic and new mixed-use buildings to revitalize and enhance this gateway to the Gorge. The Discovery Block Development as a whole is scheduled to undergo completion in three stages. The townhome development was finished in 2016, followed by the completion of the west commercial building in 2019. Future plans include the development of the east side of the commercial area, doubling the currently available office space.
