Cape Foulweather Lookout
The Cape Foulweather Lookout Renovation preserved and revitalized the historic structure while addressing the needs of its aging building envelope. The work included replacing the roof, windows, and siding to restore the character of the façade with materials that reflect the original design. In addition, seismic upgrades strengthened the existing concrete foundation and introduced new steel structural components to enhance stability and resilience.
Originally built in 1937, The Lookout at Cape Foulweather gift shop is a beloved Oregon Coast landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its significance to early coastal tourism and its association with U.S. Coast Guard operations during World War II.
