North Gresham Elementary School

Students attended classes in an existing 57-year-old elementary school as Bremik Construction built the new, 72,000 sf, two-story North Gresham Elementary School. The tilt-up, concrete, and steel structure included 24 classrooms with common and collaboration spaces, a media center, cafeteria, covered outdoor play area, gymnasium, and parking. We overcame the logistical challenges of working around an occupied campus with detailed safety and logistics plans.

During preconstruction, we suggested $2.5 million in value engineering so the district could choose from an itemized list of options at both the Design Development and 50% Construction Documents. From these cost saving ideas, the district chose $336,000 in voluntary upgrades while remaining within budget.
