The Marilyn is a unique blend of luxury and affordable housing in the heart of Southeast Portland. The brick- and metal-clad building has a contemporary appeal, while remaining complementary to the massing and materials of the neighborhood’s historical character. Twenty percent of the units are reserved for residents making 80% of the median family income. Amenities for this 59-unit apartment building include private balconies, a top floor lounge and patio, ground floor retail shops, and 22 parking spaces.

Bremik self-performed nearly 30% of the project scope, including the structural concrete, wood-framing, and installing windows and bathroom accessories. Construction logistics were challenged by a very tight project site, where the building footprint took up the entirety of the property. Close coordination with the City and scheduling just-in-time deliveries with suppliers was essential.
